Challenge
Markessa is a nail polish and beauty brand designed for the corporate woman: it aims to enhance her natural beauty with a minimalist aesthetic and subtle finishes that keep pace with the demanding rhythm of the office. The challenge was to build a modern and distinguished identity for this customer profile, so I began by researching a name, analyzing the competition, and defining the type of logo, before developing a custom typeface.
Solution
The result is purely typographic. A typeface logo designed to perform perfectly at its demanding smaller sizes. Also adding a visual element to the “M” that gives it character and distinguishes it from similar symbols, drawing once again on the reference to “Marquess,” the royal title that inspired the name. With the logo finalized, we moved forward with the rest of the brand identity to apply it to business cards, digital catalogs, and Instagram posts.
